Fledgling, Blackbird threw itself from the musical precipice over six years
ago with the chance meeting of Sidney Barthell and Noel Price at the
Hurricane Coffee House in Sequim, Washington (USA). They found themselves
true kindred spirits... note-bound children of baroque-folk and were soon
bound together in a fellowship of the strings.

Sidney's high, low and middle church music spanned fifteen pious years
before settling into the earth-generated, kitchen curtain certainty kindling
the beautiful melodies and insightful lyrics to come.

Noel, on the other hand was shot naked through rock and roll in the early
seventies before evolving to balladeer, bard and sidewalk sage stumbling
'round Great Britain and Europe... mostly lost.

But like the proverbial Euler Diagram, Noel and Sidney have discovered an
overlapping, homologous musical direction that has become the distinctive
sounds of Blackbird. Harmony, both in voice and instrument tantalize
melodic counterpoint in a soothing balance of semi-controlled chaos.

Blackbird specializes in folk music elevated to art, strangely arranged
cover tunes and originals compositions. Both Noel and Sidney play guitar,
mandolin and whistles and are rapidly approaching a century of combined
musical experience.
